Seminar using The Tritt Method

Phase 1 - Nouns and Adjectives
We will take turns reading the text. After each paragraph, we will corect pronunciation, explain the vocabulary, analyse any difficult grammatical constructions, and explain any special grammar points. Listeners will underline nouns (and in some cases pronouns or verbs) Graham will place nouns using stickies on a flipchart (mm1) Graham explains the phase: Nouns and Adjectives Allan will use nouns and adjectives to build a mind map on an foil (mm2) 
1000  Groups  Building the mind-map 
Graham and Allan will each take a group and build up mm2. 
    Output of this phase is the mind map mm2.
The best of the groups will be copied and used for the next steps. Allan will draw up a good version and make copies.

1045  Frontal  Phase 2 - relationships and changes
Graham explains the method using part of the mind-map. We place the known relationships (links) in the mind-map and information about the links (their characteristics).
We will then continue to include new information: possibly more actors, grouping of actors, more links and more characteristics of all the actors and links.
Then we identify points where a choice can be made (action points) and how we could change the characteristics or actors or links 
1100  Groups  Graham and Allan will each take a group.
Starting with the mind-map mm2 each group will extend it as described above. 
    Output of this phase is the mind map mm3. Each group will be use their mind map for the next step.

Demonstration of MindMan (using PC) 
Information about related techniques (using Internet) 
1145  Frontal  Phase 3 - Verbs and Adverbs
Graham will explain the aims and the format of the result. During this phase we propose a solution of the problem. It will be in an active form ("do this", for instance using imperative verms) with information about characteristics (who, what, where, when, why and how) 
1200  Groups Graham and Allan will each take a group. In a brainstorming discussion, Graham or Allan will make notes which will be the basis of a memo. 
    Output of this phase is a memo which presents a strategy to solve the problem. 
1230  Frontal  Conclusion and Evaluation
If there is time, each group will present their solution, and a vote will be taken for the best. Graham (or attendees) will explain the benefits of this method and how to use it in other situations. An evaluation form will be filled out and the handouts distributed.
